When it comes to planning a fall wedding in Chicago that blends elegance, romance, and personal storytelling, Kiersten and Chase’s celebration at Swissôtel Chicago offers endless inspiration. The October 26th wedding embraced the season’s warm, muted tones while weaving in whimsical nods to the couple’s love story—from North Dakota to Hilton Head and back to the Windy City where it all began.
We were thrilled to see this wedding featured in Modern Luxury Weddings! Read the full story here.
From Loyola to a Fairytale Wedding
Kiersten Dietrick and Chase Gauthier first met at Loyola University, and after years of long-distance through medical school, they brought their journey full circle with a ceremony at the historic Madonna della Strada Chapel, followed by a chic reception overlooking the city skyline.
“I wanted lots of fall hues to complement the autumn season—muted but lively,” Kiersten shared. Her vision came to life with decor that featured pearl and shell accents, vintage-inspired tones, and unique custom touches like a chocolate-and-almond escort board.
A Champagne Wedding Dress & Thoughtful Details
Opting for a nontraditional look, Kiersten wore a stunning champagne-hued gown that brought out her features with warm, golden tones. “I felt royal,” she said. Her look was completed with a custom headband and pearl-detailed veil that tied in seamlessly with the rest of the day’s design.
Reception Decor & Tablescape Inspiration
Anthony Gowder Designs brought the floral and decor vision to life with arrangements that felt lush yet ethereal. Rentals from Tablescapes Event Rentals and BBJ La Tavola created a polished reception atmosphere with elegant tabletop pieces, velvet linens, and contemporary furniture.
A Menu That Delighted Guests
Guests enjoyed a meal and cake from ECBG Cake Studio, followed by dancing to entertainment by Okyne Media Lab and live music. Signature drinks honored the couple’s cats, and the dance floor was filled with joy as the newlyweds shared their first dance to Fitz and the Tantrums’ “Out of My League.”
Kiersten noted, “Our biggest success was communicating the love we have for every person who showed up to celebrate.”
